Nike Dunk SB, Nike's most popular skateboarding shoe, has all the high quality design features that Nike offers. Nike Dunk SB’s have been available for over many years now, and come in over 65 different color variations and styles now. Since the Dunk's evolution into a skateboarding shoe, the letters `SB` have been added to signify their link to Skateboarding. It’s apprehensive at first about Nike skate shoes, people like the way they've gone about it. Instead of making cheap crap skateboarding shoes and trying to undercut the skate shoe market, Nike has taken the high road. Nike Dunks have their own unique style, and while some of their shoes look like a pack of crayons left on a stove burner, some of them look pretty cool. And all of them are well made. Whatever you take on Nike being in the skate market, it is nice that they actually took the time to make skateboarding shoes that work well. Like everything with skateboarding, you should do what you want, and express yourself. If you like the look and feel of Nike Dunk SB's, then go for them. People like the strong response and board feel that Nike Dunk SB’s give, and some of the colors are sick. It's also nice to have a pair of skate shoes that can double for other sports - most large puffy skate shoes don't work that well for other sports. And, to top all of this off, the Nike skate team is very strong with guys like X Games gold medalist Paul Rodriguez. Not many skate shoes last for three years on the market, but Nike Dunk Pro SB’s are still going strong. There's a reason for that - Nike spent some time on these, and is dedicated to making sure Nike Dunk SB's work well for skateboarding.

The Nike Dunk Low Pro SB Purple Pigeon - light graphite/violet was dubbed Purple Pigeon after the original Pigeon Dunks were released. The only problem was that these did not feature the pigeon logo on the heel of the shoe as the original ones did.A designer came up with the idea to make the Pigeon patches which you could put on these,to really help them earn their name. They feature a suede/leather upper with two tones of grey, and purple accents, including a purple Nike swoosh, outsole, and heel tab. These are rare and definitely a favorite among Nike SB fanatics.

Nike SB (Nike Skateboarding) shoes are not sold everywhere either. These are sold, for the most part, only in exclusive skate shops. Check out the official Nike Skateboarding website to see where you can find a new pair of Nike Skateboarding SB shoes. For years in California, the skate culture was very popular and skateboarding shoes and clothes were worn more as casual wear than by actual skateboarders. Nike saw the potential to tapping into this market and thus launched the Nike Skateboarding line.Nike launched their skateboarding lines on the back of the Nike Dunks SB. The Nike Skateboarding Dunks were the same shape and fit as the Nike Dunks, but with several performance changes.

First of all, Nike knew that with the wear and tear of the foot, a good cushioning system was needed. Since skateboarding shoes need to have a low center of gravity, the Nike Dunks SBs had Zoom Air insoles. Next, the Nike Dunk SBs had extra padding added to the area around the ankle and to the tongue. The extra padding to the tongue did provide some extra cushioning between the top of the foot and the board, but it was more for cosmetic appearance than anything. Lastly, Nike beefed up the quality of the materials on the Nike Skateboarding Dunks. With double and triple stitching being the standard in the skateboarding shoe industry, Nike made the Dunks SB much stronger than tradional dunks.
